Wrinkles - What You Should Do About Them

by Amanda Beaty

Who does not want skin without wrinkles as they get older? I know that I want as smooth of skin as possible. To get smoother skin you need to know what makes it wrinkle in the first place. This article will discuss reasons that this aging problem occurs. Also we will look at some prevention and treatments also.

The epidermis or top layer of skin becomes less dense with age. This occurs when the epidermal cells lose their ability to bond. This also causes the skin to retain less moisture. Production of these cells also slows down making it harder for the skin to repair itself. One of the many things that happen because of this is wrinkles. The epidermal is not the only layer that affects this though the dermal layer can also age.

There is a thinning that happens in the dermal layer that can cause some problems. The collagen production is severely hampered and the skin has less ability to stretch. This can cause the skin to fold or crinkle. The sebaceous glands become less active therefore not enough sebum is produced causing the skin to dry. Even our sweat glands get less in quantity which can make the skin dryer.

There a few medical procedures that correct wrinkles. On is the use of injections of botulinum toxin type A. I myself do not prefer needles. Glycolic acid treatments are also a professional treatment that helps. You just need to educate yourself as to what treatment you would prefer to do. You also need to check out the doctor or medical facility that is going to perform it.

You can go to a professional and get shots of botulinum toxin A this sometimes helps eliminate wrinkles at least temporarily. I shudder at the thought of needles though so I would probably not choose this for myself. You can get acid peels with glycolic acid if you that appeals to you. This can leave the face smooth after it heals from the peel. Whatever choice you make read material on it to make up your mind. The doctor and or location you choose should be researched on their credentials too.

Be sure to drink your water every day. Six to eight glasses of water. Since the skin getting drier promotes wrinkles you need to nourish your skin with natural moisture of within. I hope that I have given you some good ideas to help keep the your skin healthy. Have a happy healthy and hopefully wrinkle free life.

Wrinkles - How To Get Rid Of Those Fine Lines

by Amanda Beaty

When I was younger I always thought people with wrinkles looked funny. Now that I am older I am trying very hard not to have them. To keep from having them though I started looking into what causes them. I will share some of the information I have found out. Let’s discuss causes for wrinkles and skin aging.

The dermal layer decreases in thickness also. It has less collagen because of less being produced and the skin becomes less elastic. Lines and other conditions happen when this occurs in the dermal layer. The skin also dries because of less sebum being made in the sebaceous glands. We also have fewer sweat glands as we age which can cause dryness too.

Products are on the market in cream form to treat wrinkles. I know there are creams that correct the problem, there are also creams that are for increasing the tightness of the skin. Face lift creams are available for an instant effect too. Creams for maximum moisturizing for the dryness are readily available too these days. I would use one of these creams to combat this problem before considering a medical alternative for this.

There are plenty of over the counter solutions for wrinkles today. You can buy a cream to help erase them, or one to make the skin more firm, and there is actually creams that say they are for a face lift. Moisturizers are quite effective these days too with all the maximum strength ones out there. Consider applying one of the creams in place of more drastic solutions as performed by medical professionals.

Smoking should be avoided for the sake of your health and skin. The blood vessels constrict during smoking disabling the skin from getting correct oxygen. Carbon monoxide can increase due to smoking which makes the skin react badly. This can increase the amount of free radicals, which can cause the skin to age faster.

Another preventative to take when it comes the aging of the skin is not to smoke. Smoking decrease the skin ability to oxygenate itself. Carbon monoxide levels climb also because of the nicotine. When those levels rise the free radicals come out in higher numbers which can help the skin age and wrinkle.

Being outside especially in warmer weather can be hard on the skin. You need to protect yourself with sunscreen of an SPF of 30 or higher. Liberally apply sunscreen before enjoying the outdoors for sunbathing and other activities. You also need to apply it again during the day like every thirty minutes. Makeup and creams have a certain amount of SPF protection in them today also. You can protect yourself all day long with the products that are on the market these days. On the nutritional side drinking your water everyday will help your skin so much. Since wrinkles can happen because of dry skin then drinking your 6 to 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day can help. This helps from the inside to moisturize your skin. I hope the ideas in this article will help give you very smooth skin.

Serious Skin Care - Know How To Take Care of Your Skin

by Amanda Beaty

Serious Skin Care is probably one of those things that we fail to realize its importance. Our skin is the human body’s largest organ, keeps us cool or warm and provides protection for us against bacteria right down to dehydration. It is our first line of defense, yet, how well do we protect it? There are some basic, easy steps we can follow to help our skin, and in return help ourselves.

Every day care is most important. You should not use soaps on your face, especially those of a deodorant variety as it causes the skin to get overly dry, resulting in cracking and flaking. When choosing your serious skin care, check to make sure it is approved for use every day. Products containing Salicylic Acid can cause your skin to be dry and irritated.

If you have sensitive skin, you should be aware that products that contain alpha hydroxyl acid can make your skin even more sensitive and at greater risk for sunburn. Many products containing this ingredient will have a warning label, so remember to check when shopping for serious skin care.

We have heard the warnings for years, and now is a good time, when improving your skin care to take heed. What ever brand of sun block you chose, you need to use it! SPF30, which blocks both UVA and UVB rays, is recommended by many dermatologists’ .Whether swimming or exercise; it is always wise to reapply your sun block. Even skiing can cause sun burns, so it is wise to apply sun block before and during skiing.

Your lips need protection too. Shiny glosses can attract more sun, so remember to apply a sunscreen to your lips under all your lip wear. This is just another product to add to your serious skin care.

Covering the skin when going out into the sun can also help protect your skin and can help prevent sunburn and damage. The forehead, scalp and ears get a lot more sun than the rest of our skin, so extra care should be taken by wearing a hat as part of your serious skin care.

Finally, hydrate from the inside out. The first part of your body to show the symptoms of dehydration is your skin. While the latest hydrating lotions may put moisture on the surface, you also require the moisture from within.

Remember this is the skin you have for life! A few simple but serious skin care practices can help you take care of it. Take care of the skin that takes care of you and have fun!

Wrinkles - Laugh Lines Are No Laughing Matter

by Amanda Beaty

A smooth skin definitely looks very attractive, but wrinkles in the form of laugh lines or other folds don’t make you look great. The folds and furrows that form around eyes at the time of laughing or smiling, tend to become permanent and more noticeable with growing age. The task to keep your skin free from these wrinkles is not easy, unless one is able to remain away from sun light and could avoid weight gain, all sources of pollution, and comedy shows too. Notwithstanding all the age-induced problems, it is still possible to combat them by observing many easy to follow measures in one’s life.

Though wrinkles tend to get formed on all part of one’s body, it is the ones that appear over exposed parts like face, neckline, forearms etc that are of greater concern. Normally we pay greater attention to face, but as summer approaches, the rush to shop for swimming wear does reflect our inherent faults. Yet it may be lot easier to keep the skin healthy if we use sunscreen lotions and avoid yo-yo kind of dieting that leads to periods of weight gain and weight loss.

As we get older, skin does not remain as elastic as when we were young. The entire structure under our skin begins to deteriorate. After being stretched out after laughing or frowning, it doesn’t bounce back like it used to. That doesn’t mean that there is nothing that can be done about wrinkles.

Remember that anyone who has spent lots of time sunbathing without protection will eventually pay the price. Those who have abused their bodies by smoking will probably develop more facial wrinkles. And, anyone who has failed to follow basic nutritional guidelines or has lost and then gained lots of weight repeatedly will look back in regret.

Keeping the skin nourished and taken care of is a basic necessity. A good diet with all the proper nutritional areas addressed is one of the best ways to keep wrinkles at bay. Without the right amount of vitamin C, linoleic acid and omega fatty acids, your skin will age faster than normal and you will see a lot of wrinkles. A lot of fats and carbohydrates should also be avoided if you want to preserve the appearance of your skin.

No matter how careful you are, sweat, dirt and pollution will get into your pores. Be careful in your selection of facial cleansers to fit your unique skin type. Any facial cleanser with fantastic claims of making you look younger will only damage your face if it is not what you need and may even increase the wrinkles on your face.

Also, carefully study all the ingredients of a skin product before you decide to apply them, particularly on the sensitive skin areas like face. People allergic to certain substances should never use the product that contains any of those ingredients. Some products have long, difficult-to-understand pharmaceutical names; in such cases make a prior study of them through online research so that in the efforts of fighting against wrinkles you don’t embrace harmful diseases later. However, now-a-days there is increasing preference for natural and organic skin products that provide gentler touch. With lot many reputed manufactures coming into this field, there is no dearth of possibilities on offer.

Use a little common sense when it comes to skin care. Even though we all have to play the hand we are dealt - hypersensitivity to the sun or bad genes - doing a little research or choosing to wear a big floppy hat at the beach will go a long way towards keeping you skin smooth and fabulous.
